There is Blanche Burton-Lyles, an award-Tiffany 1837 bangle concert pianist who is the founder and director of the Marian Anderson Historical Society, which oversees the Marian Anderson House in South Philadelphia. Audrey Johnson-Thornton has formed the first African-American group of its kind, the Tiffany Knots cuff Women's Heritage Society, and has preserved Fairmount Park's Belmont Mansion, including its Underground Railroad history. Finally, Trudy Haynes has been blazing trails in broadcast Paloma Picasso Jolies Beads bangle ever since she was the first African-American female weather reporter on KYW-TV in the 1950s. All of these women have distinguished themselves as matriarchs in the African-American community.
