Scheemaker was impressed with Rodway's Discount U-Boat under pressure. "For her to step up in a state meet and really just give us that lead that we needed, that's huge," Scheemaker said. Brewer sophomore Teal Jackson led the Eastern Maine contingent with two third-place finishes and a fifth. Jackson, who swept the sprint races in the EMITL championships, was third in the 55 dash (7.42), 400 run (1 minute, .99 Discount Vacheron Constantin) and fifth in the 200 (27.20). Jackson was battling Biddeford senior Maria Curit entering the final lap of the 400, but couldn't get around Curit on the outside. "I didn't know you were allowed to cut into the inside, because this is my first year doing indoor," said Jackson. "When (Curit) did, I asked why, and she said you're allowed to do that." That aside, Jackson was happy with her performances. "I think I could've done Discount Welder, but it's different running on this track because it's flat," she said. "The one in Easterns, it curves so it's a little easier on the corners. But it was good." Bangor freshman Tiffany Gray had a solid day, finishing second in the TJ with a leap of 34-.75 while she joined Discount Wyler Baumrind, Lexie Achorn and Laken Thomas to lead the Rams' 4x200 team to a fourth-place finish.
