Dogs wag their tails, become excited at the prospect of leaving links of london sale yard and exploring a new sidewalk, path or river. It doesn't take much to make them happy and it takes even less to have them forget that although they may have done exactly the same thing the day before, today it seems new all over again. It's the wonder of discovery. The pleasure of the first time. Apart from a bloody mouth or two and some white scarring on her nose where she has rammed several cottonwood trees, Poco's face is unmarked and, more importantly, her valentines Day bracelets  of adventure unquenched. Every day is a new day. Every bowl of food the first bowl and when I lace on my tennis shoes, put the keys in my pocket, and fire up the truck to drive the dogs to Beach Park, not only will this be the best walk Poco has ever had, but the first walk among many first walks. Dogs traffic in good news and seem to ignore anything but good news. If we could be half as optimistic as our dogs, we could quit our jobs and become motivational speakers. A couple of weeks ago, I took the dogs on a walk in the mushroom fields, west of Coffee and just north of the river. Poco strayed as she often does, but instead of Links of London A Charm back due to some spot-on navigation system that dogs -- even blind ones -- have, she kept making a wider and wider arc. Normally, this wouldn't have been troubling but the arc included wading in the river and trying to swim across to the other side. This wasn't cause for alarm either except the river was wide, cold and I was wearing sweat pants and a heavy fleece, which made the prospect of swimming across an unattractive idea. Before she had gone halfway, something clicked in her navigation system and she turned back and returned to the shore on which I was standing and hollering. That's when I noticed that Poco wasn't being difficult or headstrong -- who could possibly accuse a blind dog of such nefarious traits -- she just couldn't hear. Since that walk, it has become Links of London Two Hearts Charm Red that there is something wrong with her hearing.
