In recent years, however, some of its Links of London Bangles-time independent stores have moved or closed, and there has been a long-running debate among merchants as to whether Cross Keys should have only independent, upscale boutique stores or a mix of independent and chain stores like tenants J. Jill, Williams-Sonoma and Talbots. General Growth Properties put the Village of Cross Keys up for sale in 2008, Links of London Bracelets has since taken it off the market. "GGP continues to evaluate its portfolio of properties, but at the current time, The Village of Cross Keys is not up for sale," Schardt said in his statement. Dusseau said she and Peterka are sorry to leave Cross Keys, but like the mix of shops and businesses at Stevenson Village, especially the popular Links of London Charms fashion boutique Lori K. That shop is expanding in Stevenson Village, and Joanna Gray Shoes will lease Lori K's current space. Other stores and businesses in Stevenson Village include a breakfast and lunch eatery called Coffee With T, a dentist's office, hair salon, men's fashion store, gift store, framing store, an interior decorator, a Links of London Earrings alterations shop, law office, landscaper, produce market and a post office.
In a written statement, Schardt called it "a Discount Tiffany Pendants tenant," and said Dusseau and Peterka's decision not to renew their lease was made "after much discussion." Dusseau said she and Peterka, who have owned Joanna Gray for about three years, negotiated with General Growth to renew their lease, but tested the market, too. In a recession, "there are lots of spaces available. You can't believe how many people Discount Tiffany Rings out of the woodwork," she said. One was Max Realty, a part of the Max Group, which owns more than 300,000 square feet of commercial properties -- including small and medium-sized shopping centers -- ranging in size from 1,200 to 60,000 square feet and stretching from the Baltimore area to York County, Pa., according to its website, www.maxrealty.com. "A shopper with great taste that I know recommended that I look at their store," Discount Tiffany Sets co-owner Aaron Max, whose family bought Stevenson Village last year. A women's shoe store would complement other stores in there, Max said, adding, "It is my understanding (Joanna Gray) is a well- respected store, known outside of the Cross Keys area." The Village of Cross Keys, which opened on Falls Road in the 1960s, has established a Discount Tiffany Watches as a destination center.
Joanna Gray is moving to the Stevenson Village Discount Tiffany Keys center in Baltimore County around April 1, said Mag Dusseau, co-owner of the popular women's shoe store with Jan Peterka. The shop, known as a destination boutique, draws customers from around the region to the Village Discount Tiffany Money Clips Cross Keys, which is owned by General Growth Properties. The store's new home, Stevenson Village is at 10401-41 Stevenson Road. "We've had a great run" at Cross Keys, said Dusseau, who said they got a better lease deal from Stevenson Village. The store's lease at the Village of Cross Keys, an upscale, boutique-oriented Discount Tiffany Necklaces at 5100 Falls Road, is due to expire in June. Christopher Schardt, the senior general manager of Cross Keys and the General Growth Properties-owned Harborplace and The Gallery in downtown Discount Tiffany Notes, expressed regret at losing the store.
